From September 30 to October 2, 2005, an international conference entitled “Human Rights and Access to Essential Medicines : The Way Forward” took place in Montreal, QC, Canada. The conference was followed by a World Health Organization (WHO) sponsored initiative in the form of a petition which will allow people to contribute to towards the fulfillment of health rights by providing a way to give their opinions on the subject.
The Website is based on Spip (http://www.spip.net) content management system (CMS) which eases text editing and the management of downloadable files.
The Website is translated in 12 languages, including non-Western languages with characters and has required the use of specific standards. Language and translation management is very easily and intuitively done with the administration interface.
