Mailman

Introduction

Mailman is a very powerful and stable mailing list management system. It is used in production environments by many companies : small businesses as well as medium and large businesses or organizations. It is the perfect vehicle through which information can be publicized to internal working groups as well as external customers. It also allows the exchange of information between several subscribers, like a newsgroup. Mailman makes it possible to easily manage emailing and to automate some tasks like subscription management, whether the purpose is to send occasional information or to publicize new products and services.

• Administration : Management of administration tasks from a Web interface : general configuration, subscription, and subscriber account management, message moderation, etc.
• Multilingualism  : Translation of the Web interface and email notifications into more than twenty languages.
• Moderation : Moderation management makes it possible to restrict the sending of messages to some users.
• Approval : It is possible to set up a messaging approval process that would’t allow message to be sent whithout moderator approval.
• Susbcription and unsubcription : Personalized susbcription management, users can subscribe or unsubscribe by email or with an automated form process.
• Archiving : Automated archiving management. A Web interface allows access to list archives, which can be made public or private.
• Filtering : An integrated filtering engine allows to identify sus picious (SPAM) emails.
