Flash programming

The Flash medium has a lot of benefits, primarily that it makes it possible to create animations and publish these on Web pages. This medium also offers the option to develop dynamic applications that act as a container for external data : XML files, databases, remote Web services. This allows the creation, within Flash, of content management systems, real-time online games or online Chat software (see our product : Clavardon).

However, Flash has some disadvantages and limitations. Its file format, .swf, is not very well interpreted by search engines. A Website which content is in Flash format will not be well read by search engines’ robots, limiting how its content referencing, and impeding its positioning. There are some ways to get around this, but in general, it is not the best medium with which to develop a dynamic content Website, such as a portal or an e-commerce Website.
